We have triedeverything in our power to continue on as Soup’s On, with the same recipes youhave relied on since 2006. It is unfortunate to say that we are legallyobligated to stop cooking soup here

Fire Code in Indianarequires a Type 1 Hood for grease vapor omission expelled from flat cookingsurfaces. Whew! What this means is that our current exhaust system needs anoverhaul for us to be able to heat up oil, and sweat our vegetables – (thefirst step in cooking soup!) After researching our options, we learned threecrucial details that forced our hand in a new direction

One, the hood woulddraw a significant amount of suction, which would force our doors to shutquickly, loudly, and hard to open

Two, the amount ofelectricity needed would not be sustained in our 100 year old house

Three, the noise alonewould create a very unpleasant dining atmosphere

We hope with all of ourheart that you trust we are offering products that you will enjoy in every way.More importantly, we thank you for your understanding as we faced our biggestchallenge yet, one that we wish we didn’t ever have to

We say “Soup’s Off” fornow, we cannot say what the future holds. Maybe this is all a bad dream and wewill wake up in a short while, turning the Soup’s back On
